Belong.

You have lived in this world, lived with these friends, practically lived in your certain social and work related places, for years; for decades. What you know, who you know, where you know, everything you know stems from the life you’ve lived and carved for yourself. This is you. This is what defines you and your place throughout the existence of mankind.

You feel comfortable knowing this. You are safe. You belong, and no one can take that away from you. There is no confusion. No need to feel lost or awkward. You are in control.

Over two decades later, and I still don’t belong.
