My sister invited two of her school friends over this afternoon. I got home to find them watching Harry Potter 4 on DVD with the volume up so loud that I couldn’t have my customary afternoon nap (not happy Jan….). Now I’m back from from indoor soccer and coffee with friends, and they are still here. But now they’re sitting talking about random deep and meaningful topics. Considering my bedroom is right off the family room, not much effort is required to hear what they are saying. It’s definitely kept me entertained. They’ve talked about religion, culture & heritage, friendships, siblings… oh and now they’ve started gossiping – what an anticlimax. The best conversations come late at night, when you have nothing better to do, when your with a few close mates and your too tired to do anything better. People actually open up. Some might claim that even better conversations come when you’re drunk, when you’ve lost all inhibition… but that can also potentially be terribly dangerous.
The other thing I would like to comment on is the intense dislike I have towards those who are too cool to invest in earphones/headphones and so subject everyone in their vicinity (usually a public place such as train or bus) to their terrible music being played on a shocking quality loud speaker (usually a mobile phone). Seriously! You’re not cool! You are a nuisance! The cockroach of society!
